Edge of our sanity, the Northern edge of Luzon

Cagayan, 2009

There is a whole story and a whole bunch of crazy things going around here. I would rather keep it to myself as I do not want to offend any of the locales who have been more than accommodating to us.

Well, it all started with the lack of funding - I mean we do this all the time. We were short of 5.00 on our last ride to town to go to that forsaken ATM and I looked underneath this tricycle thing that really is not a trike and I found a five peso coin! The secret is out. And I will shut up now.

Some nice view from our doorstep where we stayed for the night. Cagayan 2009

I'm not even sure why I even took this picture. I was probably just bored and was lost (literally and figuratively). We were starting to get marooned.

I like to be poetic with my pictures. I just can't stop that piece of me that sees something of a message on whatever subject juxtaposed on whatever background.

The only composed diva upon reaching the Fishery after a 12 hour bus ride. uncomfortable Northern nights and a 5 kilometer walk to the "edge" of the island and our sanity.

Alright now; the story: We went to this wedding. My cousin's, basically no idea how to get to Sta. Ana. I just knew or we just felt going to Sta. Ana is the right thing to do. We did the 12 hour bus ride; which is fine. We spend the night at some resort, which is fine - only to be greeted by a fishery. A fishery!

They forgot the cows.
We were going to say goodbye: But with some coffee, a 30 minute of brawling and finally getting either one of the divas get to talk to the locales we figured it out.

I was already saying goodbye; on the boat. I knew in my heart and I have never been so sure to make it back to Manila which ironically the thing that I've always considered hell became heaven compared to what I was going through . Waves as high as 20 feet and a rickety boat will drive you to the edge.
and then we were welcomed by this magnificent beach with bleached shells
atop the hills is this amazingly panoramic view of the Palaui Island
exotic tropical plants surround the shore
an endless shoreline of dead shells, hermit crabs and pasty white rocks

the living trees seemed to have inhabited a place completely forgotten by the year 2009

and the best part is you've never felt more alive than any other time in your life

and you've thought that the only way to get there was to hold on to dear life, well really it was but as prize for making it through you are enveloped by these lovely tropical bush
The only thing that's disappointing me is the fact that I don't have enough money to buy any of the islands.
